Golf Day - 2008

This year’s annual Golf Day took place on Thursday 12th June 2008. Mukti Trust had even more support than last year, despite the rain and gusty winds forecasted.

Following a gut filling breakfast, 51 golfers teed off. The morning consisted of nine holes of ‘best ball golf’ team event, through the rain and wind some shots went astray, but good scores were obtained and everyone was well warmed up for the afternoon.

Lunch gave an extra boost of energy for the 18 hole singles event in the afternoon. The sun peaked through the clouds at times, and the golfers continued to swing.

During the afternoon some newbies tried their golf swing out in the golf clinic. They learnt how to hold a club, swing, aim, chip, and all importantly how to putt. Following a tutorial one even managed to get a par on the first hole. A potential golf pro may have been found!!!

The day was rounded off with a hearty 3 course dinner and auction. The whole day was a huge success. Mukti Trust would like to thank all those who attended for their continued support and we hope to see you again next year to meet new challenges on the golf course!
